The 178B5774 is a decentralized AC micro drive produced by Danfoss for the FCD 300 Micro Drives series. It mounts directly on the machine frame and controls small induction motors in processing applications, removing the need for separate cabinet-mounted inverters and long motor leads. Within an automation line, it supplies closed-loop speed regulation, start-and-stop sequencing, and torque limiting, allowing pumps, mixers, or conveyors to run only as fast as the process demands. The product type is FCD 300, and its mechanical construction includes the series’ standard coating for general-purpose industrial environments.
The power section accepts a three-phase input of 3 × 380–480 V and converts it to a modulated output that delivers up to 0.55 kW of electrical power, equivalent to a shaft capability of 0.75 HP. An enclosure rating of IP66 seals the drive against dust and high-pressure water, allowing the housing to be washed without an auxiliary enclosure.
