Product Description:

The 131B3561 is a decentralized AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the FCD 300 Micro Drives series. Installed directly on machinery, it converts fixed-frequency mains power into a controlled output that allows PLCs to regulate induction motor speed for conveyors, fans, and dosing pumps. Moving the inverter out of the control cabinet shortens motor leads, minimizes electromagnetic noise, and reduces panel space in distributed automation systems. Its sealed housing and field-mounted connectors suit washdown or space-restricted locations along processing lines.

At nominal load, the drive operates at an efficiency of 96%, so only a small fraction of the input power is lost as heat. During acceleration, the inverter can deliver 180% for 0.5 seconds of the rated motor torque, while 160% for 1 minute is available for constant-torque loads. Supply-side protection begins with a recommended prefuse of 25 A and a feeder breaker that can clear faults up to 10,000 A. The control board stores ten fault events for later diagnostics. Full performance is maintained up to an altitude of 1,000 m; above that point, the output current must be reduced. The output terminals are isolated so that the phase-to-ground voltage does not exceed 300 V.

The power section withstands a prospective fuse let-through current of 100,000 A. Drive cycling through the mains contactor is limited to twice per minute to prevent fatigue caused by repeated inrush current. A minimum clearance of 100 mm above and below the heat sink must be maintained to keep airflow unobstructed. The output transistors support unlimited switching at the motor terminals, independent of the supply contactor limits. Field wiring accepts motor leads with a cross-sectional area of 4 mm². The supply conductors can also have a cross-sectional area of 4 mm², allowing the same conductor size to be used on both sides of the drive.
