The 178B1655 is a decentralized AC drive produced by Danfoss for the FCD 300 Micro Drives series. Installed directly on the machine frame, it regulates the speed of small induction motors used in conveyors, mixers, and auxiliary equipment throughout processing plants. Its distributed mounting arrangement reduces the need for long motor leads and additional cabinet space. This configuration supports on-machine automation tasks that require straightforward installation and strong protection against dust and water.
This model delivers 0.37 kW of motor output power, which corresponds to a continuous shaft capability of 0.50 HP. The input section accepts a three-phase 380 to 480 V supply, allowing connection to common industrial power systems without a transformer. Its IP66 enclosure seals the electronics against dust and powerful water jets, allowing the drive to be installed in areas that undergo washdown procedures.
