Product Description:
The 178B2136 is a decentralized AC drive produced by Danfoss within the FCD 300 Micro Drives series. The FCD 300 unit mounts close to the motor so that speed control and local I/O can be placed directly on the equipment. It is supplied with a standard factory coating that protects internal circuitry against moisture and airborne contaminants. Wiring enters through cable glands because the unit does not have a terminal box. The converter is suitable for conveyor sections or mixers that operate in washdown areas of a plant, where dust and water may come into contact with exposed equipment.
The drive accepts a three-phase input of 3 x 380–480 V, which is compatible with common low-voltage industrial power systems. Its continuous mechanical output is rated at 0.75 kW, corresponding to a shaft power of 1.0 HP. This power range is suitable for small induction motors used on auxiliary material-handling equipment. An IP66 housing prevents dust ingress and resists high-pressure water jets, allowing exposed installation without an additional cabinet. Because the inverter is mounted on the machine frame, the motor leads can be kept short. Shorter motor leads help reduce radiated electrical noise and simplify compliance with electromagnetic compatibility requirements.
An integral 1 A RFI filter attenuates conducted emissions so the drive can share power buses with sensitive instrumentation. The unit is supplied without a fieldbus interface, so network communication requires an external gateway or a separate communication interface. The housing has no integrated display, making a remote panel necessary for local interaction and parameter access. Extended electronics provide a 24 V auxiliary supply that keeps the control logic active during brief mains interruptions. For batching or dosing lines, the processing application profile provides preconfigured acceleration and deceleration ramps suited to controlled material flow. Cable-gland entry maintains the sealed housing while allowing power and control conductors to be routed directly into the drive.
