Product Description:
The 178B1485 is a high-performance converter from Danfoss Automation. It is a small product that is widely popular among industrial engineers for its high degree of durability and its ability to easily withstand water, dust and all other types of foreign interference. This controller is also equipped with a heatsink that ensures that the heat produced during its operation is safely dissipated into the environment. The operating principle of this product involves rectifying the AC voltage received from the mains into DC voltage, which is then converted into an AC voltage with variable magnitude depending on the operation requirements of the connected motor. The inverter control system of this converter is called the Voltage Vector Control (VVC). This system can adapt its operation to the current status of the motor.
Customers are allowed to configure the different control inputs and signal outputs present on the 178B1485. The converter does not feature a control panel; however, this configuration process can still be carried out through the use of the serial communication. The current in the intermediate circuit is regularly monitored to prevent short circuiting or an earth fault on the motor connection, and the mains supply is also monitored to ensure that the intermediate circuit is not overloaded. As a standard, the temperature in the inverter is regularly monitored; if there is any risk of overheating, the inverter automatically shuts down to prevent damage.
All the digital and analogue inputs and outputs present on the 178B1485 frequency converter are designed to meet the Protective Extra Low Voltage (PELV) requirements. The terminals for serial connection also meet these requirements. There are Five Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) integrated on this product, which help operators to monitor the current operation status of the unit.
