The 134G2841 is an AC micro drive produced by Danfoss for the FCD 300 Micro Drives series. As a decentralized frequency converter, it mounts close to the motor and modulates three-phase power so that conveyors, mixers, and other processing equipment can run at variable speeds under PLC command. The unit adjusts motor torque and speed to match real-time process demands, thereby reducing energy use and mechanical stress. Its decentralized layout also reduces the length of motor cables compared with a converter installed in a central control cabinet.
The control section provides one analog current input, one analog voltage input, five digital inputs, and two pulse inputs. All analog channels are digitized with a 10-bit converter for precise scaling. Electrical efficiency reaches 96%, so only a small portion of the incoming energy becomes heat. During continuous operation, the drive draws a rated input current of 2.6 A and delivers a rated output current of 3.0 A, feeding the motor with up to 2.0 kVA of apparent power. Internal power dissipation is limited to 59 W, allowing installation in tight spaces without auxiliary cooling. A 25 A pre-fuse can be fitted on the mains side to coordinate upstream protection with the converter’s semiconductor limits.
Short-term overload capability supports process peaks. For intervals of up to 60 seconds, the input can withstand 4.2 A while the inverter stage supplies up to 4.8 A to the motor. Position or speed feedback from encoders is accepted through the pulse channels at frequencies of up to 110 kHz, enabling accurate slip compensation. The power stage provides a typical motor shaft output of 1.1 kW, which suits small pumps and augers commonly used in food or chemical processing plants. With a mass of 5.8 kg, the enclosure can be mounted directly on machinery without heavy brackets. This placement keeps field wiring short and provides straightforward access to the unit.
