Product Description:
The 175N2122 is a decentralized frequency converter produced by Danfoss for the FCD 300 Micro Drives series. Intended for processing applications, the unit mounts directly on a motor or an adjacent wall and converts fixed-frequency mains power into a variable-frequency output. This arrangement allows a controller to adjust motor speed according to real-time process demand. By integrating the control electronics into a sealed housing, the drive reduces the need for separate control panels and shortens cable runs. Its decentralized design is suitable for conveyors, mixers, pumps, and other material-handling equipment installed throughout a plant.
The converter operates from a three-phase supply of 3 × 380–480 V, eliminating the need for external transformers in most compatible installations. Its continuous motor output is rated at 0.75 kW, making the unit suitable for small pumps, fans, augers, and conveyor sections. Communication with higher-level PLCs is handled through Profibus DP V0/V1 at 12 Mbaud, enabling cyclic setpoint exchange and diagnostic reporting. The enclosure has an IP66 rating, protecting the internal electronics against dust and powerful water jets. Conducted emissions are reduced by an integral 1A filter, which helps the installation meet common industrial electromagnetic interference requirements. These operating features allow the converter to regulate motor speed while exchanging process data with an automation controller.
The drive is extended with a brake, enabling controlled deceleration when the connected motor slows or stops. Power and control conductors terminate in a wall-mounted box with metric threads, which accepts compatible metric cable glands and supports organized field wiring. The standard protective coating is appropriate for indoor washdown areas where moisture and airborne contaminants may be present. A display connector allows a remote keypad to be attached for parameter access without opening the enclosure. This external connection helps preserve enclosure protection while operating values are viewed or adjusted. The mounting arrangement also keeps power and communication connections close to the driven equipment, reducing long motor-cable routes across the installation.
