The 178B2349 is a distributed AC drive manufactured by Danfoss for the FCD 300 Micro Drives series. As an FCD 300 unit, it mounts directly on the motor housing and provides localized speed control for conveyors, mixers, and pumps on automated process lines. The drive converts three-phase plant power into a regulated output that follows PLC or hardwired commands. This arrangement reduces the amount of equipment required inside a central control panel and shortens motor cable runs in installations where panel space is limited.
The power section accepts a line supply of 3 × 380–480 V, matching common low-voltage grids in industrial plants. The drive has a continuous output rating of 0.37 kW and a mechanical shaft capability of 0.50 HP, making it suitable for fractional-horsepower induction motors. An IP66 enclosure protects the electronics from dust and powerful water jets in demanding point-of-use installations. Danfoss applies a standard epoxy coating to the internal circuit boards for additional resistance to moisture and airborne contaminants.
