The IndraControl XM21 series is a compact Rexroth control platform used as a function package within IndraMotion systems for machine automation in areas such as handling/assembly, packaging, printing, machine tools, and woodworking.
It uses an Intel processor with 512 MB DRAM and provides integrated communications including an Ethernet port plus two Sercos III master/slave interfaces for real-time drive and I/O connectivity. The controller supports modular expansion through an S20 interface that can connect up to 63 S20 I/O modules (100 Mbit/s) and can supply up to 2 A on the S20 bus, with additional extension modules supported via the bus base architecture. Power is supplied from 24 VDC (SELV/PELV) across an 18–31.2 V allowable range, with defined current and power consumption values depending on whether S20 modules are powered from the control. The hardware is intended for installation in a closed control cabinet (IP20 device protection) and is specified for industrial ambient conditions, with defined limits for temperature, humidity (non-condensing), vibration/shock, and EMC operation in industrial environments.
