Product Description:
The XFE01.1-FB-10 is a communication module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the XM21 IndraControl Systems series. Within an automation cell it serves as a Profibus Master, controlling cyclic and acyclic exchanges on PROFIBUS DP so that the PLC can supervise distributed drives, sensors, and I/O nodes without additional gateways.
The module runs from a nominal supply of 24 V DC; this low-voltage input lets it share the same power rail as other control electronics. Under maximum load it draws only 0.2 A, which keeps total power dissipation below 4.8 W and limits heat generation inside the cabinet. An internal blade fuse rated at 4 A disconnects the circuit during fault currents, protecting both the wiring and the board. The enclosure meets the IP20 degree of protection, indicating finger-safe openings but no sealing against dust or moisture, so installation inside a closed control cabinet is required.
The supply enters through a 4-Pin XD1 Plug where pins A1 and A2 carry +24 V while pins B1 and B2 serve as GND returns. Bus cabling attaches to a 9-Pin D-Sub Socket, matching the standard PROFIBUS pinout for fast field integration. A reverse-polarity protection diode blocks current if the supply is wired backward, and additional suppressor diodes absorb switching transients. The electronics tolerate supply dips up to 10 ms, maintaining bus arbitration during short interruptions so network communication is not lost.
