The XM2100.01-01-31-31-301-NN-10013NN is a compact embedded controller in the XM21 IndraControl Systems series from Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It functions as the central logic and communication node for distributed motion or I/O stations, letting machine builders coordinate real-time fieldbus traffic and deterministic control tasks from a single DIN-rail package. Its compact DIN-rail format supports centralized control in automation cabinets where installation space is limited.
The unit operates from a nominal supply of 24 V DC SELV/PELV and, at peak load, draws 1.5 A, so cabinet power budgeting can be verified quickly. Internal conversion limits consumption to 36 W, keeping thermal output low and allowing fanless mounting. Control tasks run on an Intel E620T 600 MHz processor that is paired with 512 MB DRAM for cyclic program execution, user data, and buffering of field traffic. Non-volatile 128 kB remanent memory stores retentive variables between shutdowns without an external UPS. Two Sercos III ports provide a deterministic fiber or copper ring for drives, while one RJ-45 Ethernet service port enables programming, HMI links, or office-network diagnostics. The controller can accept up to three inline extension modules and delivers 2 A through the S20 backplane so local I/O slices are powered without extra wiring.

Softstack-based EtherCAT Master functionality is selectable when multi-protocol networks must coexist. The S20 bus propagates at 100 MBit/s, and deterministic timing is preserved for up to 63 S20 modules, allowing sizable local terminal strings before another controller is required.
