The XM2100.01-01-31-31-001-NN-100N1NN controller is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the XM21 IndraControl Systems series. It is built around a PLC basis system, so it executes deterministic logic while exchanging real-time data with drives, I/O, and supervisory stations inside an automated line. By combining embedded processing with modular network interfaces, the device supplies centralized coordination for material handling, packaging, and assembly cells that require tightly synchronized motion and safety sequences.
The internal computing platform uses an Intel E620T 600 MHz processor with 512 MB DRAM to run control software, user code, and diagnostic tasks. Nonvolatile program variables are stored in a 128 kB remanent area, and an SD card slot provides at least 1 GB of storage for recipe files and updates. Input power must be a 24 V DC SELV/PELV source; under full load, the module draws 1.5 A and stays within a 36 W power budget. A 2.5 A replaceable fuse protects the supply rail against overcurrent events. Two onboard Sercos III ports permit cyclic motion commands to reach drives without an external coupler, and a USB host/device pair supports removable media and service connections. When fast task processing is required, the dual Sercos channels sustain deterministic communication independent of conventional Ethernet traffic.
The controller has a single 1 × 1 Gbit RJ45 interface for parameterization tools or upper-level IT systems. MultiEthernet hardware supports a Sercos Master fieldbus for ring or line topologies, and it also supports OPC UA for encrypted data exchange with MES or cloud analytics platforms. The housing has an IP20 rating, so the unit must be installed inside a cabinet. Passive ventilation is sufficient because expansion slots are absent, and the XA-BS01 backplane accepts zero extension modules. This layout keeps wiring straightforward and avoids the need for additional slot planning.
