The XFE01.1-SY-01 is a modular I/O and communication extension produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for integration into the XM21 IndraControl Systems series. Within an automation cabinet, this unit expands processing resources and fieldbus interfaces so the primary controller can coordinate motion, logic, and safety tasks on assembly lines or packaging machines. It operates from the standard 24 V DC supply used throughout the IndraControl platform and mounts alongside CPU modules to keep wiring short and diagnostic access straightforward.
The housing carries an ingress protection rating of IP20, so it must be placed inside an enclosure that meets the system requirement of at least IP54 cabinet protection. The electronics remain functional at temperatures up to +60 °C, allowing continuous service in high-temperature machinery zones. A maximum relative humidity of 95% (noncondensing) prevents moisture from forming a water film on the circuit boards. Transient line spikes are limited by overvoltage category II, and the device tolerates ambient temperatures as low as −25 °C during unheated startups. Protection Class III construction ensures that only safety extra-low voltage is present on accessible terminals.
