The XM2100.01-01-31-31-001-NN-112NNNN is a compact controller from Bosch Rexroth Indramat that belongs to the XM21 IndraControl Systems series. As a central processing node, it coordinates motion, I/O, and safety tasks by combining PLC logic with real-time communication. Two onboard Sercos Master channels link drives and distributed I/O, while the integrated Gigabit Ethernet port connects higher-level networks or visualization PCs.

When S20 modules are installed, the backplane may draw up to 36 W or 1.5 A from the 24 V supply, while the separate S20 bus logic limits its current to 2 A to help prevent dropouts during hot swap. A single controller can address 63 S20 slices, giving flexibility for digital, analog, or safety channels over the same rail. Reverse-voltage protection is handled by a diode on the power input, and a watchdog monitors supply fluctuations before the processor resets. The housing weighs only 0.38 kg, so it can be mounted on light DIN rails inside distributed machine cabinets without exceeding panel load limits. A USB host and device port combination also supports direct PC connection, removable storage, and barcode scanners.
