The Combibox Clutch Brakes series is a KEB family of clutch/brake combination units designed to transmit torque through a clutch stage on the input side and provide braking on the output side within one compact assembly.
The series uses a friction-based arrangement in which the clutch rotor transfers power to an armature connected to the output shaft, with housing orientation defined from clutch side to brake side for correct installation. These units are built for easy integration with motors and gearboxes through NEMA or IEC mounting dimensions on the input and output ends. Depending on the application, the series can be wired for direct DC operation or supplied from AC through rectifier arrangements, with switching components sized for inductive clutch and brake loads. The platform also includes adjustable air-gap settings, defined shaft-load limits, and replaceable wear components such as the clutch rotor, armature, and brake magnet to support maintenance over the service life of the unit.
