Internal Product Review
The 09.10.450-SLA is a well-engineered KEB Combibox clutch brake for precise power transmission and stopping functions. A 130 Nm rated torque and 3000 rpm maximum speed provide solid performance for cyclic industrial duty. A 45 ms clutch release time and 250 ms clutch engage time support controlled response, making the 09.10.450-SLA a strong choice for precise clutch-brake applications.

Product Description:
The 09.10.450-SLA is a combined clutch-brake unit manufactured by KEB within the Combibox Clutch Brakes series. Designed for inline mounting between a drive motor and a driven shaft, the device connects or stops rotating masses on command, providing controlled acceleration and deceleration in automated conveyors, packaging stations, and positioning axes. It uses electromagnetic actuation to transfer torque through a dry friction interface, allowing electrical control over mechanical motion without hydraulic or pneumatic components.
In nominal operation, the unit transmits a rated torque of 130 Nm, and the running speed can reach up to 3000 rpm. Power consumed by the magnet coil is 50 W at 20 °C, and it operates from a 24 V supply. The working air gap is preset to 0.4 mm, establishing the magnetic flux needed for reliable engagement, and a built-in wear indicator signals when this dimension approaches the readjustment limit. Electromechanical response starts with a clutch delay of 60 ms before flux builds, and the rotor and armature inertias, 67.4 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m² and 54.3 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m² respectively, affect the kinetic energy that must be absorbed. A B14 (3) input flange mates to IEC motors, and the Bore-In/Shaft-Out mounting keeps the overall length compact.
During service, the friction system endures a single-cycle capacity of 12.5 × 10³ J and accumulates 66.6 × 10⁶ J at 0.1 mm total wear, provided the continuous load stays below 323 J/s. Engagement takes 250 ms, while release is completed in 45 ms, enabling precise stop-start sequences on indexed machinery. Once the lining has worn to a residual gap of 0.8 mm, the stator can be re-shimmed to restore performance. The B5 (1) output flange presents a keyed shaft for coupling to gears or pulleys, and the Combibox housing maintains alignment throughout thermal cycles.
