Product Description:
The 90.98.210-CE04 is a clutch-brake control module produced by KEB for the Combibox Clutch Brakes series. It is installed between the machine power supply and the coil to energize or disconnect electromagnetic clutches and brakes in automated drive systems. The module switches the direct-current side and applies a timed overexcitation pulse, shortening response times and supporting consistent actuation. It is suitable for the 3K3 climatic category and mounting altitudes up to 1,000 m, allowing use in a range of enclosed industrial control applications.
The module operates from a 24 VDC supply and provides a continuous coil current of 1.2 A at 45 °C. During engagement, it supplies an overexcitation peak of 7 A for 800 ms before automatically returning to the nominal output. The direct-current switching element interrupts voltages up to 48 VDC while helping minimize electrical arcing. The output cable can be up to 10 m long without compromising the intended current rise time. The terminals accept a tightening torque of 0.4 Nm, providing a secure electrical connection without damaging the connection points. Operation is limited to six actuations per minute to control coil heating and reduce excessive thermal cycling within the module.
The enclosure has a 35 mm DIN-rail footprint, allowing the module to mount in standard control cabinets and align with adjacent rail-mounted components. Its IP20 enclosure protects against accidental contact with internal electrical parts when the module is correctly installed inside a cabinet. The housing is made of plastic, providing electrical insulation and supporting required creepage distances without additional barriers. A 3.5 mm mounting-hole diameter accommodates the intended fastening arrangement. The module measures 59.5 mm in height and 57.5 mm in width, making it suitable for densely arranged panel layouts. These compact dimensions leave room for terminal access and cable routing while maintaining the required spacing around neighboring control equipment.
