Product Description:
06.10.640-4000 is a ready-to-install KEB Type 10 clutch-brake from the Combibox product line. It is equipped for air gap modification in the field. Nominal air gap of this size 06 clutch-brake is 0.2 millimeters. The maximum allowed air gap size is 3 x the nominal size, which for the 06.10.640-4000 clutch-brake, is 0.6 millimeters. As per manufacturer recommendations, the air gap should not exceed this limit, and modification of the air gap should be carried before this limit is reached. Some Combibox units require disassembly before the air gap can be adjusted. A major benefit of Type 10 clutch brakes is that the air gap can be modified from the outside without having to disassemble the housing. Two screws are available on Type 10 clutch-brakes for this exercise.
The 06.10.640-4000 is a ready-to-install clutch-brake with IEC mating dimensions that allow fast and convenient attachment to equipment such as motors and gearboxes. Operators can provide DC power at 24/95 Volts to the clutch-brake. For applications with AC power supplies, KEB provides half-wave and full-wave rectifiers for connection to 110/220 Volts AC mains. Some components on the 06.10.640-4000, namely the clutch rotor, the braking magnet, and the armature, require periodic replacement due to wear and tear. Replacement parts are available from KEB Automation. When necessary, KEB recommends replacing all three of these parts each time. Combitron series switches are available for applications that require high cycle rates. These switches provide a 24 Volts DC signal to the clutch-brake via photocells, relays, or proximity switches. Use of these Combitron switches allows reduction of switching time by 2 to 3 times per second. Only qualified technical personnel should handle and operate this industrial clutch-brake.
