Product Description:
The 06.05.800-0377 clutch-brake unit belongs to the Combibox Clutch Brakes series produced by KEB. Designed for inline shaft applications, the module alternately transmits or interrupts torque so that conveyors, packaging indexes, or positioning tables can start and stop quickly under electronic control. By integrating an electromagnetic clutch with a spring-applied brake in a single housing, it simplifies mechanical layouts, shortens response times, and reduces wiring compared with separate components. This arrangement also helps the drive train shift cleanly between powered motion and secure stopping during repetitive machine cycles.
With a base width of 80 mm, the unit fits directly onto compact gearbox flanges while leaving clearance for adjacent sensors. The clutch coil draws 15 W, a consumption level that supports rapid magnetization without oversizing the control power supply. Threaded cable entry is provided by a Pg9 conduit port, allowing standard flexible conduit to protect the lead wires in washdown or high-vibration zones. Total envelope across the mounting face is limited to 112 mm, so coupling length inside a machine frame remains short. Short overall length can help when pulleys, guards, and nearby bearings compete for space along the shaft line. The KEB marking on the cover helps identify the unit during routine inspection.
The brake section requires only 12 W to hold load inertia at standstill, reducing enclosure heat when the drive is idle. A shaft projection of 25 mm extends beyond the front bearing, supplying enough keyed length for sprockets or timing pulleys without extra sleeves. Because the assembly weighs just 2 kg, it can be mounted on light aluminum plates or integrated into vertical axes with minimal counterbalance effort. That low mass also reduces load on mounting structures when the unit is installed on moving carriages or hinged brackets. The compact housing and low electrical demand suit tightly spaced machine sections where controlled stopping and short overhang are important.
