Product Description:
The 06.10.360 is an electro-mechanical clutch-brake module produced by KEB. Intended for inline installation on rotating equipment, it lets a drive engage load torque quickly and then hold position without external actuators. By combining a friction clutch and a spring-loaded brake in one enclosure, the unit supports index cycles, rapid stops, and compact layouts in conveyors, filling systems, and small assembly stations. It is suitable for equipment that must alternate between motion and holding without adding separate brake hardware beside the motor or driven shaft. This single-housing arrangement also reduces the number of separate rotating components in machines where mounting space is limited.
Electrical excitation is supplied at 24 V DC, which matches the control level commonly used in low-voltage automation panels. During braking, the coil consumes 12 W, so the resulting heat must be removed by surrounding airflow. Clutch actuation requires 15 W, and the control circuit should allow for that higher demand when switching is frequent. Mechanical output is rated at 7 Nm of torque for coupling and holding duty. The drive side uses a shaft input connection that accepts direct motor coupling, and the lack of an input B5 flange helps reduce axial length.
The load side uses a shaft output connection that matches the input geometry, which helps simplify coupling to pulleys, sprockets, or gear stages. The module is supplied without mounting feet and without an output B5 flange, so it is usually secured by hubs or custom plates within the machine frame. In the Combibox Clutch Brakes line, this arrangement keeps the package compact while maintaining consistent internal clearances during repeated cycling. Matching shaft geometry on both sides also helps keep coupling selection straightforward across simple driveline layouts. Pre-trimmed leads support straightforward wiring, and the balanced clutch and brake behavior suits applications with frequent starts, stops, and short holding periods.
