The 10.10.360-4001 is an electromagnetic clutch-brake unit produced by KEB within the Combibox Clutch Brakes series. The assembly combines a torque-transmitting clutch and a stopping brake in one housing, allowing conveyors, indexing tables, and packaging shafts to start, couple, and hold loads with a single component. In industrial automation, it synchronizes motion by switching torque on and off under PLC control while keeping the drivetrain compact. Combining the clutch and brake in a shared housing also reduces the number of separate components required along the driven shaft.
This unit operates from a nominal control supply of 24 V DC, so its coils can be driven directly from common machine I/O. When energized, the brake coil draws 38 W and produces a holding torque of 130 Nm. Heat generated by the brake coil is transferred through the metallic frame during operation. The clutch engages through a separate coil that consumes 50 W and provides coupling torque equal to the brake’s holding torque. This matching torque capability supports consistent load handling during acceleration, stopping, and stationary holding. The separate clutch and brake coils allow each function to be controlled independently according to the required machine cycle.
Both the clutch and brake use a single-surface friction design, which reduces the axial envelope while maintaining short engagement times. Power passes directly through a shaft-in/shaft-out layout, allowing the device to be installed inline without belts or gears. The input and output hubs each accept a shaft measuring 28 mm in diameter and 60 mm in length, which provides matching coupling interfaces on both sides of the unit. The housing has no feet or flanges, so it must be secured with a custom bracket or attached directly to the machine frame. This mounting arrangement permits the body to be positioned to suit the available space while the inline shaft path remains aligned with adjacent drivetrain components.
