The 06.10.670 is an electromagnetic clutch-brake unit produced by KEB within the Combibox Clutch Brakes series. The device combines a single-disc clutch with a spring-applied brake so a control system can alternately transmit or arrest torque on the same shaft. Supplied as a complete module, it is intended for conveyor sections, indexing tables, or packaging axes where rapid engagement and dependable holding force are required. In automated machinery, it simplifies mechanical design by integrating torsional coupling and braking functions into one compact assembly.
The clutch is energized by a coil that consumes 15 W at 24 V DC, while the brake consumes 12 W. Under continuous cycling, heat generated at the friction surfaces is limited by allowable rates of 81 J/s for the clutch and 59 J/s for the brake, preventing glazing and fading when duty cycles are calculated correctly. Across 0.1 mm of wear, the rotor and armature can safely absorb 9.5 × 106 J of cumulative work, a value that can be used to plan preventive maintenance intervals. Both elements deliver a rated torque of 7 Nm, allowing the drive train to provide equivalent acceleration and stopping capability.
Mechanical integration uses a B5 (2) input flange and a B5 (1) output flange. No mounting feet are supplied, so the housing is centered directly by the pilot diameters. The rotor inertia is 1.07 × 10-4 kg·m², which limits reflected-load acceleration torque when the assembly is mounted on small servo motors. The peripheral speed may reach 3000 rpm without exceeding dynamic balance limits. Operating clearance begins with a rated air gap of 0.2 mm. Once total wear approaches the readjustment limit of 0.4 mm, shims are removed to restore the proper engagement time. The assembly operates from the 24 V DC control supply commonly available in machine panels.
