Product Description:
The 07.10.370-0004 electromechanical module is a combined clutch-brake unit produced by KEB for the Combibox Clutch Brakes series. Positioned along a machine shaft, the component selectively transmits or interrupts rotational energy and applies braking force when the drive is disengaged. This operation allows packaging, printing, and indexing equipment to engage drive torque during motion and hold the load during dwell intervals. The combined arrangement reduces the space required for separate clutch and brake components while supporting controlled starts and stops in repetitive machine cycles.
The unit provides a 15 Nm brake and clutch torque rating, giving both sections matching torque capacities for acceleration and deceleration. The clutch is rated for 20 W of dissipation during engagement, which must be considered when establishing an appropriate operating cycle. The brake coil draws 16 W when energized, so the connected power supply must accommodate the electrical demand during rapid cycling. Proper electromagnetic operation requires a nominal air gap of 0.3 mm, which supports consistent magnetic flux and response time. The drive side uses a shaft input configuration to receive rotational power from the upstream mechanism. The driven side uses a shaft output with a DIN 6885/1 keyway, allowing positive torque transfer to a coupling, pulley, gear, or other keyed component. This arrangement supports in-line installation without requiring an offset power-transfer mechanism.
The assembly has a 10,000-hour load life at a reference speed of 1,500 rpm, with test forces applied at a radial distance of 20 mm. It withstands a maximum combined radial or axial force of 370 N, so loads from adjacent couplings and transmission components must remain within this limit. Shaft concentricity follows the DIN 332/2 centering standard, helping the hub align accurately with the mating shaft stub. Correct alignment limits uneven bearing loads and reduces unwanted vibration during clutch engagement or brake application. The stated force limit and load reference distance can be used to calculate the bending moment imposed on the assembly, while the keyed output provides positive engagement under the available torque.
