The 09.10.830-444U is an electromagnetic clutch-brake produced by KEB in the Combibox Clutch Brakes series. It couples a motor shaft to a driven load and can stop or disengage motion by switching between its clutch and brake sections. In automated machinery, this dual-function module combines torque transmission and controlled deceleration in one housing, serving indexers, packaging stations, and material-handling axes that require rapid start-stop cycles.
The mechanical torque rating is 65 Nm, and it applies to both clutch and brake operation. During continuous rotation, the assembly may be driven at up to 3000 rpm, so the unit can operate with standard four-pole induction motors without exceeding its speed limit. A preset air gap of 0.35 mm separates the rotor and armature; magnetic attraction closes this gap when the coil is energized, allowing torque transmission. Armature inertia is 23.08 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m², while rotor inertia is 23.29 × 10⁻⁴ kg·m², indicating the momentary acceleration load presented to the motor. Heat generated during engagement is limited by a clutch friction power of 228 J/s, helping keep the friction surfaces within their permitted operating temperature during rapid cycling.
