VLT 2000 Frequency Converters

The VLT 2000 series breaks down into several voltage categories depending on the application requirements.

Single-phase and three-phase options running 220-240V or 208-240V handle 0.37-1.5 kW, plus three-phase units at 380/460V for higher power requirements. The cooling setup relies on natural convection, so 100mm of space must be left above and below each unit. The nice thing is they can be mounted side-by-side with no gap between drives if rack space is tight. EMC compliance comes through optional built-in RFI filters that meet EN 55011, Group 1, Class A emission standards. With these filters installed, up to 100 meters of unscreened motor cable can be run without interference issues. There are also separate filter modules available - IP 20 enclosures with integrated motor coils or IP 00/IP 10 modules that can be mounted externally. Temperature affects performance in a predictable way: full output at 40°C, then it drops to 84% at 45°C, 67% at 50°C, and 50% at 55°C. Worth keeping in mind if the installation runs hot. Motor compatibility is pretty straightforward - they work with standard three-phase asynchronous motors. Smaller motors rated 230/400V get wired delta to 230V or star to 400V, while larger 400/690V motors use delta connections.
