VLT 2000 Frequency Converters

The VLT 2000 Frequency Converters series is a family of Danfoss AC drives designed for stepless speed control of standard three-phase asynchronous motors by converting fixed mains voltage and frequency into variable motor output.

The series was offered in multiple single-phase and three-phase supply versions, with power ranges extending from 0.37 kW up to 4.0 kW depending on the input voltage class and model. These drives use Danfoss Voltage Vector Control technology to produce full rated motor voltage at rated frequency, improve current waveform quality, and reduce inverter switching losses compared with conventional PWM operation. The platform also includes built-in electronic thermal motor protection, galvanic isolation between the power and control sections, and programmable control inputs and signal outputs with RS-232 communication capability. Across the series, optional brake functionality, RFI and motor filter modules, LC and RFI filter modules, and motor coil modules allowed the drives to be adapted for EMC requirements, longer motor cable runs, and application-specific installation needs.
