Product Description:
The Danfoss VLT 2030 is a strong frequency converter. It is housed in an IP20-rated shell, which gives it basic protection that makes it safe to use in protected electrical cabinets or inside. The VLT 2030 is flexible enough to be used in a lot of different industrial and process automation settings since it can regulate motors in a variety of ways. It can output frequencies of up to 500 Hz. When it comes to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), the installation procedure has to be very careful.
The VLT 2030's basic model doesn't come with an inbuilt EMC (RFI) filter, hence it doesn't fulfil EMC emission standards right out of the box. Installing an external RFI and motor filter module is required to meet the appropriate criteria. Danfoss also sells VLT 2000 series units with built-in RFI filters that meet EMC emission standards and cut down on both mains-borne and radiated interference, especially above 30 MHz, as required by EN 55011-1A.
No matter what kind of filter used, the best way to reduce electromagnetic noise is to keep the motor and brake wires as short as possible and make sure that sensitive signal cables are not mixed up with power cables. The VLT 2030 is easy to set up and gives a lot of control. A standard design, also called Quick Setup, includes external start/stop control, a potentiometer for external speed reference, the ability to choose the direction of rotation, and a jog (fixed speed) option. Terminal 12 supplies a 24 V DC internal voltage source that is utilized to turn on digital inputs. Terminal 18 is the start/stop digital input. If users apply 24 V DC to this terminal, the motor will start, but only if certain conditions are met.
