Product Description:
The VLT 2060 is a frequency converter manufactured by Danfoss Automation as part of its VLT 2000 product series. This converter is intended to accurately control the operation of connected motors using the sophisticated Voltage Vector Control (VVC) principle. The operation principle of this product ensures extremely low switching losses, resulting in higher operation efficiency. It also features a new, perfect resemblance to the sinusoidal mains supply. During operation, this product maintains a very short switching interval and a high switching frequency; its six semiconductors are alternatively held inactive in pairs to make the short switching intervals possible. It is possible for customers to individually adapt the operation of this frequency converter to a specific motor unit; however, in most cases, this individual adaptation will not be necessary since the motor is already designed to be suitable for most motor series used in the industry.
The VLT 2060 industrial frequency converter can carry out both open and closed loop control. During the open loop, the motor current supplied acts as the process feedback and provides a final result that is highly dependent on the characteristics of the motor. In this case, larger motor units often provide better results. For the closed-loop control, a direct process feedback is incorporated, which significantly improves the control accuracy for the connected motor. The safety isolation of this product meets international standards as its high voltage parts are galvanically isolated from the low voltage parts as defined by VDE 0160/106.
The VLT 2060 converter provides an output current of about 15.5 amperes; motors connected to it are also able to deliver a shaft power output as high as 4.0 kilowatts. The total weight of this unit is about 4.2 kilowatts.
