Product Description:
The VLT 2020 frequency converter is a small, flexible drive solution. It is designed to regulate the speed of AC motors very precisely in industrial settings. It can handle input voltages up to 3x460 V and has an output frequency range that may be programmed from 0 to 500 Hz. Its output power is 0.75 kW. The VLT 2020 can handle a broad range of motor and process needs since it is so flexible. The device is encased in an IP20-rated shell, which protects it from solid objects and makes it safe to put in electrical cabinets or other protected spaces.
The VLT 2020 has a built-in Electronic Thermal Relay (ETR) that is a great safety feature. When placed in UL-listed units, it protects against class 20 motor overload according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) for single-motor applications. For the right protection, parameter 315 has to be set to "Trip [2]" and parameter 107 needs to be set to the motor's nominal (nameplate) current. This feature helps prevent motors from becoming damaged by too much load, which makes operators and maintenance professionals feel better. The VLT 2020 was intended to be easy to set up and operate. After installation, the frequency converter is usually ready to use after entering or verifying only a few important settings. For the first test, users may mimic operation without attaching a motor by sending control signals and setting up things like the lowest and maximum frequency.
This function allows the checking of the system and fix problems before users start the real motor, which lowers the risks of commissioning. In a technical sense, the VLT 2020 works by first changing the AC mains voltage into DC and then changing it back into AC with a different voltage and frequency.
