The BL Servo Drives series is a brushless servo amplifier platform that drives Okuma BL servomotors by converting current command signals from the machine’s servo processor into PWM inverter output using IGBT power devices.
The design is built around a control board and a power unit, and it is available in single-axis and dual-axis configurations to support one or two servo axes in a common drive assembly. Regenerative energy is managed through a discharge circuit and the drive includes a dynamic brake function, along with protective monitoring for conditions such as motor/inverter overcurrent, DC bus over-/under-voltage, and control power faults. Operating state and alarms are indicated through onboard status LEDs and defined troubleshooting checks, and monitor terminals are provided so technicians can verify analog representations of motor speed and torque command during service work. For maintainability, later replacement drive units consolidate multiple capacity variants into fewer hardware versions by selecting the required capacity via onboard switch/jumper settings, enabling faster field replacement while keeping established wiring and connection practices.
