The HNL Mains Chokes from Bosch Rexroth are line-side reactors used with IndraDrive supply units and converters as well as RD500 SFT power-filter/inverter arrangements.
Across the series, these chokes are used to reduce harmonics in the mains current, increase the allowable continuous DC bus power of certain converters, and support regenerative operation back into the power grid on compatible systems. The HNL01.xE versions are intended for non-regenerative components such as HMV01.1E, HCS02.1E, and HCS03.1E, while HNL01.xR versions are intended for regenerative supply units such as HMV01.1R and require the proper mains-voltage synchronization or discharge connection. The variants cover 3-phase 400 to 480 V and 400 to 500 V classes, with listed current ratings ranging from 51 A to 220 A in the IndraDrive range and up to 1170 A on RD500 filter-choke versions, while larger inverter/regenerative versions also use higher inductance and power-loss ratings to match heavy-duty applications. Depending on the model, the series includes air-cooled or liquid-cooled construction, temperature-contact protection, IP00 or IP20 enclosure ratings, and installation requirements that vary by design, including vertically oriented magnetic-axis mounting on certain feeding versions and flexible mounting positions on the regenerative version.
