Product Description:
The HNL01.1E-0220-N0160-N-690-NNNN mains choke is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the HNL Mains Chokes series. Installed on the line side of inverter systems, it acts as a series inductor that limits differential-mode harmonics and reduces switch-on current spikes. By moderating the current slope entering a drive, it helps protect semiconductor rectifiers and reduces electrical stress on plant wiring. In multi-drive panels, placing a mains choke at the input can also lessen steep current edges that add stress to upstream breakers, contactors, and cable insulation.
The choke is designed for 3-phase 380 V AC (-15%) to 690 V AC (+10%) grids, allowing one unit to cover a wide supply range without tap changes. Its IP00 protection class means it has no enclosure, so it must be installed inside a control cabinet with appropriate touch protection. The unit uses Design version 1, which identifies the first release of this mechanical arrangement and terminal layout. Because the frame is open, cabinet airflow and mounting clearances should support heat dissipation around the winding and core during continuous operation. This open construction also means the protective enclosure, grounding method, and service clearances are provided by the surrounding cabinet rather than by the component itself.
The choke is assigned to the feeding supply system, so it is intended for upstream connection ahead of active front ends or standard diode rectifiers. The product is part of Series 01, which identifies its electrical version within this family. In that position, it helps smooth the current drawn from the mains before it reaches the rectifier stage, reducing crest factor and easing the load placed on the incoming supply network. That placement is common in drive systems that need improved current quality on the supply side without changing the basic function of the inverter or rectifier section.
