Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat produces the HNL05.1R-0054-N0409-N-A4-NNNN, a three-phase mains choke in the HNL Mains Chokes series. Intended for placement on the line side of regenerative converters, the unit smooths current waveforms and helps shield drive electronics from fast voltage transients. The component follows design version 1 and is intended for networks that require improved electromagnetic compatibility while maintaining low conduction losses. Its neutral contact arrangement, noted as N/C in one winding, is suited for monitoring circuits that open on overtemperature.
In steady operation, the choke carries a nominal current of 409 A, enabling it to feed multiple inverters without core saturation. Its winding inductance of 54 µH provides enough impedance to reduce harmonic content while keeping voltage drop within acceptable limits. The device accepts a mains connection range of 3 x AC 380 V –15%...500 V +10%, allowing use on common 400 V and 480 V industrial supplies. With a protection class of IP00, the choke must be installed inside an enclosed panel that provides the required touch protection. The thermal rating is based on an ambient temperature limit of 40 °C, above which derating or forced ventilation is necessary to prevent insulation stress.
At full load, the copper and core generate approximately 350 W of heat that must be removed by natural or directed airflow through the cabinet. The laminated steel core, windings, and supporting hardware bring the assembly mass to 40 kg, which affects mounting hardware selection and short-circuit bracing. An embedded temperature switch opens at 160 °C, allowing the drive controller to trip before thermal damage occurs. Control wiring can use the auxiliary contact ratings of 250 V AC and 24 V DC at 1 A, so interlock circuits may be routed through the choke without separate relay modules.
