Product Description:
The HNL01.2R-0540-C0094-A-480-NNNN is a mains choke produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the HNL Mains Chokes series. In an automation cabinet, this component is wired between the three-phase supply and the power section of regenerative drives. Its purpose is to smooth line current, limit inrush, and reduce the high-frequency harmonics that return to the plant mains. This placement helps reduce sharp current peaks when connected drive sections charge their DC links. In cabinets with multiple axes, it also helps keep conducted noise from spreading between neighboring power modules.
The choke accepts a nominal line of 3 x AC 400–480 V -15/+10%, 50/60 Hz, so it can be used on common European and North American low-voltage networks without a step-up transformer. That input range supports installation in facilities that use different utility standards. Electrical damping is complemented by a factory-installed filter pack specified as with capacitors, and the capacitors form an L-C network with the inductance to attenuate differential-mode noise. Mechanical protection is indicated by IP10, which allows installation inside a closed panel while still requiring basic finger protection.
The unit is built as Design Version 2, and this revision aligns the winding geometry and thermal spacing with newer regenerative inverters to reduce copper losses. It is paired with a Regenerative supply system, where controlled back-feeding requires stable line impedance. Stable current behavior during energy recovery helps the upstream network remain predictable when braking energy is sent back to the mains. Because it belongs to Series 01, the inductive reactance and footprint match the first size class in the product family. This makes the unit suitable for cabinets that use shared line components across several drive sections.
