The 8AC125.60-1 module is an encoder interface board produced by B&R Automation for the 8AC Powerlink Modules series. Mounted in a Powerlink controller rack, the board acquires position data from incremental or absolute encoders and passes that information to the real-time network for deterministic motion control in automated production cells. It converts differential encoder signals into synchronized serial data for downstream drive modules. This role makes it suitable for axis applications that depend on accurate feedback exchange between the sensor, controller, and networked motion hardware.
The unit provides 1 dedicated encoder input that works with BiSS, SSI, or SinCos formats. Connected transducers are powered by a regulated 5 V source that can supply up to 250 mA, eliminating the need for a separate encoder supply in many installations. Captured position values reach a resolution of 16384 × encoder lines, which supports fine interpolation at the controller level.
