The BC Bus Terminals series is a Beckhoff family of compact bus terminal controllers that combine bus coupler functionality with an integrated IEC 61131-3 programmable PLC for decentralized machine control.
Across the series, the units connect Beckhoff Bus Terminals over the K-bus and support expansion up to 255 terminals with K-bus extension, allowing a wide mix of digital, analog, and other signal types to be integrated into one modular I/O station. Different versions in the range provide fieldbus and communication options including Ethernet, PROFIBUS DP, RS485, and RS232, so the platform can be matched to different network architectures and control requirements. The controllers are designed to exchange data between local I/O and higher-level automation systems, with configuration and programming handled through TwinCAT and with support for both direct fieldbus communication and local PLC processing of terminal data. The series also includes features such as diagnostic LEDs, configurable process-image mapping, 24 VDC operation, and compact DIN-rail mounting, making it suitable for modular automation systems that need distributed intelligence in a small footprint.
