Product Description:
Beckhoff is the manufacturer of BC5250 Bus Terminal. The module is a reliable and efficient solution for industrial automation applications. Belonging to BC Bus Terminals Series, the terminal is compact and durable and is designed for an effective operation.
The BC5250 bus terminal is relatively lightweight as it weighs only 100 g which facilitates easy mounting or integration into compact systems. The data that can be communicated over the fieldbus at once is 512 bytes input and 512 bytes output. The module offers a traditional communication port used for programming/configuration with flexibility in baud rates. The terminal is programmable using Beckhoff’s TwinCAT software which is common in automation and industrial systems. It has an open style connector with 5 pins which is used for connecting to the bus network. It comes with a 16 bit micro controller which controls the logic and operations of the terminal. The module has a total 64 number of bus terminals which allows connection of multiple I/O terminals, and are expandable to 255 with K-bus extension. It conforms to EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 which ensures it meets electromagnetic compatibility standards.
The BC5250 bus terminal can withstand industrial vibration and mechanical shock and it has flexibility to configure using TwinCat software or the controller. The PLC of this module is able to handle 2048 input / 2048 output data. The terminal has an IP20 rating which offers basic protection against fingers or large objects. The communication protocol used for industrial networking is devicenet which is popular for real time automation. It is able to withstand 500V isolation, which ensures safety against voltage surges or insulation failures. It is designed to accept DC voltage in the range 24 V (-15 % /+20 %).
