Product Description:
The BC8000 Bus Terminal from the BC series is designed for fast signal processing. This development of Beckhoff can be seamlessly integrated in automation systems that require compact and modular Input and output solutions.
The BC8000 bus terminal comes with electrical isolation between power contacts and the supply voltage which protects components from voltage spikes or ground loops and ensures stable operation in industrial environments. The terminal consumes a base current of 70 mA, plus a fraction of the current drawn by the K-bus devices due to which the total input current is capped at 500 mA. The module is best able to handle up to 256 digital inputs and output. It can be placed in any location horizontally, vertically or upside down. The module should be stored in a temperature range from -25°C ... +85°C. It can manage 24 volts voltage whether it’s direct current (DC) or alternating current (AC). At power up the terminal may momentarily draw 2.5 times its normal current. The maximum current that can flow through the power contacts is 10 amperes which enables the terminal to support devices with higher power demands.
The BC8000 bus terminal uses standard 9 pin D sub connector which is commonly found in RS 232 serial connections. It can function in humid conditions as long as condensation doesn't form. Its total weight is 170 g which is useful for mechanical considerations during installation. It is highly resistant to electromagnetic interference and electrostatic discharge which ensures reliable performance in noisy industrial environments. The module can manage up to 128 analog channels which makes it suitable for sensors like temperature, pressure or current transducers. It is made to handle up to 512 bytes of data in both directions.
