The BC9050 is a compact PLC and Ethernet fieldbus coupler manufactured by Beckhoff within the BC Bus Terminals series. By combining a controller with an I/O interface, the unit allows modular terminals to exchange data with higher-level networks and handle distributed control tasks close to the machine. A single Ethernet port with an RJ45 connection provides direct wiring to the control network, while the downstream K-bus carries data and operating power to attached Bus Terminals. This local control approach keeps terminal-level logic and network access in one compact unit.

Up to 64 terminals can be connected after the coupler, and the Ethernet interface operates at 10/100 Mbaud for standard industrial network traffic. Analog processing is available for 512 inputs/outputs, while separate memory areas store process images, compiled logic, and editable user code.
