Product Description:
The BC8100 is a coupler that conforms to the PROFIBUS Standards for Buses and has been conceived for the control or monitoring of external equipment through interconnecting circuitry. This coupler supports as many as 64 bus couplings, which include 256 further digital inputs and outputs and 128 analog inputs and outputs. More than enough versatility for almost any application. It can operate with manipulative peripheral bus inputs of up to 512 byte and peripheral bus outputs of up to 512 bytes. Thus, it is very sufficient in data processing during real time control applications.
The supply voltage for the BC8100 is 24 V DC and the unit draws an input current of 70 mA plus the accumulated K-bus current summed up divided by 4 and also a maximum current intake equals to 500 mA. The device draws a 24 volt electrical power and when switched on the startup current rises to 2.5 more than normal running current. The K-gaining output current of the coupler ensures there is enough power supply distribution for bus terminals that have been linked to it. There is also voltage insulation stability of 500 Veff between the power contact and associated supply see and it is able to pull in about 10A of current from the power contacts.
The device incorporates a data communication 9 pin D-sub interface which allows connecting to a PROFIBUS bus system with ease. It also allows RS485 communications through PROFI BUS connectivity in a linear bus system with termination resistors at both ends of the bus segments. The BC8100 can accommodate to maximum of thirty-two stations in one segment without a repeater but can be expanded to one hundred thirty-six stations with repeaters.
