Internal Product Review
The BC9191-0100 is a Beckhoff BC Bus Terminal controller featuring 2 x RJ45 Ethernet ports and support for 64 Bus Terminals. A 128 kbyte program memory with 512 bytes in / 512 bytes out fieldbus capacity gives the platform solid control performance for compact automation tasks. IP20 protection and 35 mm DIN rail mounting make the controller a clean, efficient choice for panel-based installations.

Product Description:
The BC9191-0100 is a compact Ethernet Bus Coupler manufactured by Beckhoff within the BC Bus Terminals series. It combines a small PLC, a fieldbus interface, and local I/O wiring in one housing so that distributed sensor and actuator lines can be linked directly to higher-level controllers. Inside an automation cell, the unit mounts on the same DIN rail as the terminal blocks and executes user logic while passing real-time process data over Ethernet or an RS485 subnetwork.
The coupler supports up to 64 Bus Terminals, so it can present complex mixed I/O stacks to the network. Its control logic is stored in 128 kbyte program memory, with an equal 128 kbyte allocation for variable data, while an additional 2 kbyte remanent flag area and 1000 bytes of persistent data survive power cycles. Three on-board digital inputs permit direct connection of status signals without extra terminals. Communication to supervisory systems is handled through 2 x RJ45 ports that implement a 10/100 Mbit/s switch, and a single RS485 port supports legacy links. Cyclic process images reach the host as 512 bytes in / 512 bytes out, providing deterministic access to terminal states, and the controller logic can directly switch a 1 x 230 VAC, 10 A heater relay for enclosure thermal management.
Control electronics draw from a 24 Vdc 100 mA auxiliary supply, while the K-bus feeds the attached terminals with 200 mA for their electronics. Installation is on a 35 mm DIN rail, and once clipped in place the housing meets the IP20 protection class for cabinet environments. One runtime system executes the compiled code, and up to 256 kbyte of source code can be stored in memory. The unit can operate as a standalone controller or as an intelligent remote node in a modular machine architecture.
