Product Description:

The BC8050 is an RS485 Bus Terminal Controller meant for industrial automation applications such as communication with the comparatively demanding Beckhoff Construction K-bus system. The BC8050 also offers EMI concerning protocol such as Modbus RTU, RS232, RS485/RS422, which provides great flexibility for use in different industries. It operates within a temperature range of 25 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees and so is suitable under harsh conditions of weather and it has UL certification approvals and explosion protection for ATEX Zone 2 and IECEx Zone 2 (gas environment) certification.

The BC8050 contains PLC for application program with 48 kbytes of program memory, 32 kbytes of normal data memory, and 2 kbytes of remanent data that enhances data storage and easy access to that data. The cycle time of the PLC is about 3 msec for 1000 instructions, thus, the working time is also reduced for process control applications. Programming is carried out using the TwinCAT environment and appropriate programming languages are in accordance with the standard IEC 61131-3, which are IL, LD, FBD, SFC and ST.

For communication, the D-sub connector version of RS485/RS422 interface located in the BC8050 is employed. The device is not of intrinsic safety design; however, the explosion protection certification makes it implementable in dangerous zones such as the ATEX Zone 2. This BC8050 employs the PROFIBUS DPV1 which allows acyclic telegrams to be transmitted between the master device and the slave device. In a DPV1 system, there are two types of master connections, C1 and C2. C1 is a master intended for a cyclic data transport during the DP operation, while C2 is a master which will enable acyclic data transfer without dependence on the DP status.
