The VLT FCD 302 Decentral Drives decentral drive series places motor control hardware directly at the point of use, eliminating long cable runs to a central cabinet.
Supply requirements are 3-phase, 380–480 V AC, with output ratings from 0.37 kW up to 3 kW, making the series applicable across light and moderate industrial loads. Mounting is possible on the machine frame or directly on the motor housing, allowing flexibility in layout. Each unit is built into an IP66/NEMA 4X enclosure, a rating that allows operation in environments where dust, moisture, or washdown cleaning are part of daily conditions. Typical weight is in the 8.99 to 9.8 kg range, depending on configuration. The housing is smooth-surfaced, aiding cleaning in hygiene-sensitive areas such as food processing or pharmaceutical lines. Mechanically, the drive is constructed as two interlocking sections: the electronics module and the fixed base plate. This design makes replacement or servicing possible without disconnecting conduit or motor cables. Integrated USB connectivity provides direct access for setup or diagnostics. Compatibility with VLT Motion Control Tool MCT 10 software means parameters can be saved, cloned, or adjusted offline and then transferred to the unit. Diagnostic capability is built in, with a graphical display and local help functions to speed up troubleshooting. Internal RFI filtering and DC chokes reduce electromagnetic interference and harmonic distortion, improving compliance with electrical standards. The series also includes an onboard logic controller, allowing certain automation functions to run without an external PLC.
