Product Description:
The 134L8990 is a decentralized variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FCD 302 Decentral Drives series. As part of the VLT Decentral Drive FCD product group, it mounts directly on or near the motor and regulates speed in conveyors, pumps, and other equipment without requiring a cabinet-mounted inverter. This arrangement shortens motor leads and positions the control electronics close to the process, making the drive suitable for distributed industrial automation. Its decentralized design can also reduce the amount of wiring routed between a central control cabinet and individual motors.
This model operates from a three-phase input of 380–480 VAC, allowing deployment on common factory power systems without transformers. Under nominal conditions, it delivers 1.5 HP (1.1 kW) of continuous mechanical output. Harmonic emissions are limited by the integrated RFI Class A1/C2 filter, while network connectivity is provided through an A-option board that supports Profinet for real-time fieldbus communication. The standard white IP66/NEMA 4X housing seals the electronics against dust, water jets, and washdown chemicals often encountered in food-processing or packaging areas. A display connector allows a remote keypad to be attached for parameter entry and operational monitoring. The complete small stand-alone configuration contains the required control and power sections within a single unit, eliminating the need for a separate inverter enclosure.
A service switch on the motor side isolates the motor terminals for maintenance without disconnecting the mains wiring. The mounting holes use metric threads, allowing standard M-series fasteners to secure the unit and compatible accessories. Mounting brackets are not included with this configuration, so the selected installation surface must support direct attachment or use separately sourced mounting hardware. The drive is supplied without a brake, mains plug, motor plug, fieldbus plug, or sensor plugs. It also has no B-option or D-option expansion module, leaving the external connection arrangement compact and focused on the installed Profinet interface.
