Product Description:

The 134F3168 Frequency Converter supports shaft output up to 3.0 kW and 4.0 hp. It operates on a 3 x 380 – 480 V AC power supply. It is ideal for demanding industrial drive applications requiring high performance.

This 134F3168 frequency converter handles a maximum input current of 6.5 A (continuous at 3 x 380 – 440 V) and 10.4 A (intermittent). Under higher voltage conditions (3 x 441 – 480 V), continuous input current is 5.7 A and intermittent is 9.1 A. The recommended fuse size is gG-25. The output frequency range of this model spans from 0 to 590 Hz in normal mode and up to 300 Hz in flux mode. The resolution of output frequency is ± 0.003 Hz that enables precise control. The repeat accuracy of precise start/stop (terminals 18, 19) is within ± 0.1 ms. The system response time at terminals (18, 19, 27, 29, 32, 33) is ≤ 2 ms which ensures rapid action in dynamic load conditions. The starting torque reaches a maximum of 180 % for up to 0.5 seconds and the converter supports an overload torque of up to 160 % for 60 seconds that is suitable for high torque demanding applications. The slip compensation feature of this model adjusts motor speed by increasing frequency according to the load and maintains a nearly constant motor speed. This ensures better motor performance under varying loads.

The 134F3168 frequency converter from Danfoss includes protective features like trip lock which activates during fault conditions such as short circuits. The trip lock prevents restart until the issue is resolved and mains are reconnected. The reset can be manual or programmed but automatic reset should not be used for personal safety.

Frequently Asked Questions about 134F3168:

Q: How does the 134F3168 frequency converter maintain speed consistency during load fluctuations in industrial environments?

A: It utilizes a slip compensation function that adjusts frequency relative to torque demand. This keeps motor speed stable even when mechanical load varies during operation.

Q: How does the 134F3168 converter ensure fast system response during rapid start/stop control commands?

A: It offers repeat accuracy of ± 0.1 ms on terminals 18 and 19, with a system response time of ≤ 2 ms. This enables reliable and immediate action in time-critical drive systems.

Q: What kind of torque behavior can be expected from the Danfoss 134F3168 under high-demand load spikes?

A: The starting torque reaches up to 180% for 0.5 seconds, and overload torque is maintained at 160% for 60 seconds. This supports acceleration of heavy loads without drive instability.

Q: How does the Danfoss 134F3168 converter handle electrical protection during fault conditions?

A: It features a trip lock that activates during faults like short circuits. Restart is blocked until the fault clears and mains reconnect, with reset via manual or programmed logic only.

Q: How precise is the frequency control on the 134F3168 for variable speed applications requiring tight motor regulation?

A: It offers an output frequency resolution of ± 0.003 Hz, allowing extremely fine motor control. This makes it ideal for speed-sensitive processes with narrow tolerance bands.
