Product Description:
The 131Z5118 is a decentralized AC motor controller produced by Danfoss within the VLT FCD 302 Decentral Drives series. This drive is intended for installation directly on or near a three-phase induction motor, removing the need for a central drive cabinet in many conveyor, pump, and fan applications. By housing the power electronics at the machine, the unit provides localized speed and torque regulation for distributed industrial automation systems. Its decentralized arrangement can also shorten motor cable runs and place control functions close to the driven equipment.
For electrical sizing, the drive delivers a continuous mechanical output of 1.5 kW, which corresponds to 2 HP at the shaft. It accepts a three-phase supply of 380–480 V AC, matching common industrial power networks. The enclosure has an IP66/NEMA 4X rating and a standard white finish, protecting the electronics against dust and washdown water. Conducted emissions are limited by the integrated RFI Class A1/C2 filter, allowing the unit to share power distribution systems with sensitive instrumentation. The drive is supplied as a complete, compact standalone unit without external brackets, a brake, or D-option modules. It is also supplied without a B option, mains plug, or motor plug, so the required electrical connections can be selected for the installation.
Communication and service access are provided through the A-side Profibus DP interface. A separate fieldbus plug is not required because the bus circuitry is integrated into the controller. A removable display connector provides access to operating parameters during setup and diagnostic work. The built-in service switch on the motor side isolates the motor terminals during maintenance. Sensor feedback wiring is organized through six directly mounted M12 connectors, providing individual connection points for compatible machine devices. The mounting hardware uses metric threads, allowing the controller to be installed with commonly available metric fasteners. These connection features support direct machine mounting while keeping power, communication, service, and sensor wiring accessible at the decentralized drive location.
