Product Description:
The 131X9976 decentralized variable-frequency drive is manufactured by Danfoss within the VLT FCD 302 Decentral Drives series. It mounts directly on a machine frame or motor housing and converts fixed three-phase power into a modulated output that regulates the speed and direction of conveyors, pumps, and similar loads. Locating the drive in the field reduces cabinet wiring length, limits electromagnetic noise on motor cables, and supports the distributed control architectures used in modern industrial automation cells.
The unit has no fieldbus option, so control signals are exchanged through hard-wired I/O rather than a network coupler. Its integrated protection block combines a small circuit breaker and rotary isolator, allowing the power supply to be disconnected during service while also providing overcurrent protection. Because of the absence of a display connector, parameter adjustments require a remote programming tool or a PC connection. The drive provides no brake power, so a motor-mounted holding brake must receive power from a separate source. Its Series 302 control platform uses the parameter numbers, macros, and diagnostic functions associated with cabinet-mounted VLT AutomationDrive controllers.
The secondary accessory slot has no B option installed, and the unit is supplied without mounting brackets, so a suitable mounting plate must be provided. Incoming power connects directly to terminals because the unit is supplied without a mains plug. Outgoing motor leads also connect to terminals because neither a motor plug nor a dedicated fieldbus plug is included. Due to the absence of an installation box, external gland plates or conduits are required to route cables into the enclosure. The D bay does not contain an installed option. One additional position is reserved for future expansion, allowing compatible equipment to be added if the application requirements change.
