Product Description:
The 131Z7221 is a Danfoss decentralized frequency converter in the VLT FCD 302 Decentral Drives series. Mounted near the motor, it converts three-phase power into variable voltage and frequency to regulate the speed of an induction motor. Its decentralized placement shortens motor cable runs and allows fieldbus commands to terminate near the machine rather than inside a central control cabinet. This arrangement is suitable for conveyors, small pumps, and other distributed motor applications in dusty or frequently washed areas.
The drive accepts a 380–480 VAC three-phase input and provides 1.5 kW of output power. An integrated RFI Class A1/C2 filter limits conducted electromagnetic emissions from the converter. The electronics are protected by a standard black enclosure rated IP66 and NEMA 4X, which resists dust and water during industrial washdown procedures. Controller communication is provided through a Profibus DP interface installed in the A-option slot. No B-option card or external fieldbus plug is included. The unit uses flat wall-mounting brackets for installation near the driven equipment, and a display connector provides access for local parameter adjustments. It is supplied without a mechanical brake, sensor plug, motor plug, or main power plug, so the required external connections must be provided as part of the installation. Switch hardware is also omitted, allowing the appropriate disconnecting equipment to be selected for the machine.
A 24 VDC backup input in the D-slot can keep the control electronics active when the main power supply is disconnected. This feature allows communication and control functions to remain available during a temporary loss of motor power. All cable entry points use metric threads, simplifying the selection of compatible glands for power, motor, communication, and control wiring. The compact mechanical layout is a complete small standalone assembly that operates independently of a centralized drive panel. Reserved configuration fields provide space for supported product extensions without affecting the installed functions. Additional brackets, plugs, switches, disconnects, sensor cables, and motor connectors are not included with the converter and must be selected according to the installation requirements.
