Product Description:
The 134U6982 decentralized frequency converter is produced by Danfoss for the VLT FCD 302 Decentral Drives series. Designed for direct mounting on machinery, it provides variable-speed control for a three-phase induction motor without requiring installation inside a control cabinet. The unit belongs to the VLT Decentral Drive FCD product group and has a complete, small, stand-alone configuration. It can function as both an inverter and a local control node in automated conveyors, mixers, packaging lines, and other distributed motion applications. Locating the converter near the motor can reduce long motor-cable runs and simplify the physical layout of decentralized equipment.
The drive provides a mechanical output of 0.37 kW, which is equivalent to 0.5 HP, and operates from a three-phase mains supply ranging from 380 to 480 VAC. Its standard black enclosure has an IP66/NEMA 4X rating, providing protection against dust, water jets, and outdoor exposure. Communication is handled through the Profinet A-option, which supports cyclic process-data exchange and remote diagnostics over an Ethernet network. A front display connector allows local access for parameter entry and operating adjustments. The converter does not have an integral brake, so applications that require dynamic braking must use an appropriate external arrangement. Mains, motor, and sensor plugs are not included, allowing the required cable terminations to be selected for the installation.
The converter uses flat mounting brackets that position it parallel to the machine surface and provide a stable attachment point. Cable glands fit into metric threads, supporting commonly available sealing hardware and straightforward cable routing. Electromagnetic emissions are reduced by an integrated Class A1/C2 RFI filter, which helps limit conducted interference near other control equipment and instrumentation. A service switch on the motor side disconnects output power locally when the connected motor must be isolated. The fieldbus plug position is available for a compatible connector when the network layout requires one. The internal VLT Series 302 code identifies its platform within the broader decentralized drive range.
