5LS197.6 is a logic scanner. It is available as a half-sized PC module. It has two communication interfaces, including a CAN bus interface and an X2X link interface. Both of these interfaces are electrically isolated. The CAN bus interface can be configured as a CANopen master by Automation Studio 3.0 and later software versions. It has a 4-pin male connector. The maximum transmission distance supported by this interface is 1000 meters and the maximum data transfer rate is 500 kbps. The X2X master interface also has a 4-pin male connector. This network technology supports maximum 100 meter distance between adjacent nodes. Specifications for the ready relay include normally closed contact and open contact. The maximum voltage rating is 30 Volts DC and the maximum current rating is 6 Amps.

It is designed to provide electrical isolation between the two communication interfaces, and between the computer and the communication interfaces.
