The Kollmorgen AKD2G Servo Drives series is a second-generation IP20 servo drive platform designed for single-axis and dual-axis motion control, with versions available for 120 to 240 VAC and 240 to 480 VAC mains systems.
The series supports multiple connectivity options including analog command, EtherCAT, CANopen, PROFINET IRT, and EtherNet/IP, and it combines torque, velocity, gearing, and indexing functions with support for a broad range of rotary and linear servo feedback devices. Across the range, models are offered in current classes such as 3 Arms, 6 Arms, 12 Arms, and higher, with examples showing continuous output currents up to at least 12 Arms per axis, peak current capability up to 30 Arms, internal regenerative power of 100 W continuous with 9 kW peak for short intervals, and shared-bus capability. The drives also include integrated functional safety options, with versions offering STO and expanded safe motion functions such as SS1, SS2, SOS, SLS, SDI, SLP, and related safety features, along with optional additional connector sets for expanded I/O. The AKD2G family fits applications that need compact drive hardware with modern industrial network support, flexible feedback handling, and the ability to scale from straightforward single-axis control to more feature-rich multi-axis machine designs.
